Did you know?

Research shows that a patient’s healthcare professional has more influence on his or her life-and-death decisions than a chaplain, pastor, or even family member.

In her graduate research for the Master of Divinity degree, Dr. Eileen Gable, OD, FAAO, MDiv, uncovered this powerful truth through a study of Psalm 139 and its connection to life-affirming medical decision-making.

Her findings revealed that patients are most deeply impacted by the hope they sense in their healthcare professionals.

When Christian healthcare professionals carry God’s presence into their practice, their words can become instruments of healing—guiding patients toward peace, courage, and faith-filled choices in moments of uncertainty.

Evidence affirms what the faith community has long known—the presence of hope in healthcare professionals profoundly influences patient decisions and outcomes.

Meet the founder

Dr. Eileen Gable, OD, FAAO, M.Div

Area Director, CMDA Chicago

Dr. Eileen Gable is a Doctor of Optometry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and holds a Master of Divinity from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Blending her expertise in medicine and ministry, Eileen is deeply committed to helping healthcare professionals live out their faith within their calling.

Her journey began in clinical practice, where she witnessed firsthand that many patients’ needs were not merely physical—they were spiritual. This revelation led her to pursue theological training and ultimately discover a greater mission: equipping Christian healthcare professionals to bring the presence and power of God into every patient encounter.

Eileen’s personal experience with a life-threatening heart condition reaffirmed this conviction. During her hospitalization, it wasn’t the chaplain who prayed with her—it was the nurse and other healthcare professionals who carried the hope of Christ. That moment revealed a truth she now lives to share: when healthcaare professionals carry faith, healing comes from the Lord.

As the Area Director for CMDA Chicago, Dr. Gable leads with compassion and conviction, creating spaces for Christian healthcare professionals to be strengthened in faith, equipped in prayer, and united in purpose.

Her personal mission is simple yet profound—
